Assistant Brewer / Beer Server

Job Description

The Red White and Brew Beer Company is seeking full-time or part-time help in its brewery and tap room. This position is responsible for assisting the lead brewer(s) with the production of house beers, quality assurance, and brewery sanitation. The assistant brewer will be expected to help in the tasting room as needed to help ensure that customers have a positive and memorable experience. The candidate must have a passion for Craft Beer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in all brewery related activities
  • Record detailed and consistent brew logs
  • Aid in yeast starters and yeast sampling including cell counts
  • Collect and analyze beer samples
  • Effectively clean brewery, brewhouse, fermentors and all other brewing equipment after every use
  • Be knowledgeable about our beers and brewery history
  • Conduct tours of the brewery with customers and answer customer questions
  • Effectively handle routine purchases, and operate cash register
  • Develop new recipes in conjunction with lead brewer(s)
  • Maintain accurate inventory of beer, beer ingredients, CO2, and cleaning agents
  • Stock merchandise in the tasting room as needed
  • Change out kegs in tasting room walk-in cooler
  • Change CO2 tanks in brewery and/or tasting room
  • Able to effectively work individually or in a team environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical inclination and knowledge of fluid dynamics is preferred
  • Preferred TIPS certification
  • Able to lift 80 pounds (Preferred 160 lbs)
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 12 hours a day
  • Weekends, Holidays and Evenings as required
  • Candidate must be able to work an average of 32 hours per week

Compensation

  • Minimum $12/hr – Commensurate with experience
  • Profit Sharing based on annual company performance
